This sung-through musical centres around Allison Hale, a young woman who becomes unexpectedly pregnant. Being a parent is difficult but, for Allison, it will pose a unique set of challenges. Allison is diagnosed with perinatal OCD, a rare diagnosis that makes her experience compulsive thoughts about hurting their unborn child. After hitting rock bottom, Allison must reconnected from her family and gain back control of her life to find meaning in something bigger than herself. The writing team behind Crazy Girl call upon their real life experiences to depict OCD with dignity and authenticity, and to explore the intersections between faith and mental health.
