Saint Joan

by George Bernard Shaw

A peasant girl from France rises as a prominent military commander by heeding the voices of the saints in her head. She must overcome the repression of the patriarchy to lead France to victory. Though her army won, so did her doubters. They burned her at the stake. Hundreds of years later, she was christened a martyr and we tell her story. Saint Joan was Promethean’s first production. It was presented at Caribou Hill Secondary’s theatre.
